Art of Publishing is built on collaboration—bringing together artists, photographers, designers, makers and craftspeople to create original works with lasting value.
In tribute to the group's landmark debut album, only 36 editions will ever be produced.
Each book is housed within its own sculptural steel and bronze chamber, designed by British sculptor Gethin Jones, a protégé of Sir Antony Gormley. Inspired by ancient ritual vessels and the symbolism of the number thirty-six, the chamber transforms the publication into a permanent work of art—an object intended to be collected, preserved and ultimately inherited.
Rather than producing another coffee table book, the ambition was to create something that challenged the conventions of publishing itself. Part sculpture, part archive and part historical record, The Wu-Tang Clan: Legacy stands as one of the most ambitious and technically demanding publishing projects ever undertaken.
It represents the philosophy that defines Art of Publishing: that a book can become an artwork in its own right.
Few artists have reshaped popular culture as profoundly as the Wu-Tang Clan. Since the release of Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) in 1993, the group's influence has extended far beyond music, redefining hip-hop through its uncompromising creativity, mythology and visual identity.
The Wu-Tang Clan: Legacy was conceived to preserve that history in a form worthy of its significance—not simply as a book, but as a cultural artefact.
Developed over many years in collaboration with Wu-Tang Management, the project brings together an extraordinary archive of rare and previously unpublished photography, documenting the evolution of one of the world's most influential musical collectives. Alongside iconic images are personal photographs, behind-the-scenes moments and material drawn from the band's inner circle, creating an intimate visual history that spans three decades.
At the heart of the project is a monumental handcrafted volume, produced using traditional Italian bookmaking techniques and finished in the finest materials. Every copy is individually signed, numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

The result is two major creative works developed in parallel. On one side, an extraordinary photographic archive documenting the history of the Wu-Tang Clan through the work of Andy Cantillon, Danny Hastings, Pro Tim Photo, Kyle Christy and many others, alongside personal material from friends and family of the Clan. On the other, a monumental steel and bronze sculpture designed not simply to protect the book, but to become an artwork in its own right.
Either project could stand alone.
Together they create something far greater: a publication that becomes sculpture, and a sculpture that preserves a story. The Wu-Tang Clan: Legacy is not simply a limited edition book or a collector's object—it is a permanent cultural artefact created to honour one of the most influential groups in modern music.
The project launched for pre-order in 2022 with the unveiling of the prototype Chamber by RZA at Sotheby's, New York. The sculpture was brought to life by renowned blacksmith and visual artist Warren Holzman and his team at Iron Works Studios in Philadelphia, whose craftsmanship has transformed an ambitious concept into a monumental work of functional sculpture.
Created in partnership with Wu-Tang Management, the project brings together specialists from across publishing, photography, sculpture, design and traditional craftsmanship. Every Chamber is fabricated individually, every book assembled by hand, and every edition produced to the highest possible standard rather than to a deadline.
The Legacy Continues
Production of the first editions is now nearing completion.
